NSIC Player of the Week
#16 Jordan Hart (OF, 6-1, 210, Sr., R/R, Lyle, Minn. / Lyle HS)
Minnesota State

- Had a .429/.500/1.286 slash line with a 1.786 OPS against Northern State and Upper Iowa
- Recorded nine hits including a double, a triple and five home runs with a grand slam against NSU
- Also had 12 RBI, eight runs scored, two walks and got hit by a pitch once
- Became the career all-time leader in RBI at MSU, passing Nolan Johnson (2012-15) with a single in the first game against UIU for 169 RBI
- Recorded a hit in four of the five games with three of the four games being multi-hit games
- Recorded seven RBI in the second game of the doubleheader against NSU
- Leads the NSIC in hits (60), home runs (15), RBI (56), total bases (118) and slugging percentage (.825)
- Named NSIC Player of the Week for the third time this season (3/4/19 & 3/26/19)

- Posted a no-decision in 5.2 innings of action against WSC while striking out nine batters
- Only allowed one hit in eight shutout innings while striking out eight NSU batters in a 6-1 victory

- Max Steffens pitched a complete game against Concordia St. Paul and gave up zero earned runs and only three hits
- JT Mix batted .368 during the week with an on-base percentage of .429. Mix also stole one base and drove in one run
- Michael Svozil went 7-20 at the plate over the course of the past week, hitting one triple with two RBI and a perfect 3-3 on stolen base attempts

- The Beavers broke a 4-4 tie after the top of the fifth inning with three runs in the bottom of the fifth and an insurance run in the eighth
- On the day, BSU hit .208 from the plate, fielded .984, totaled 21 walks, and was a perfect 5-for-5 on stolen base chances
- Four of BSU’s five pitchers to make an appearance combined for 11.0 innings with just one earned run allowed
- BSU’s three-game series against Southwest Minnesota State was cancelled due to snow

- Junior Noah Boser went 3-for-5 from the plate with four walks, two runs, and one double while fielding a perfect 1.000 percentage
- Sophomore Wyatt White recorded his second walk-off hit during a four-game stretch and finished with four RBI against Upper Iowa
- White and freshman Jacob Carlson recorded two hits each, combining for six RBI and 10 putouts
- Freshman starting pitcher Kevin Smith threw 5.2 innings with one earned run allowed and an opposing batting average of .190
- Senior pitcher Jesse Palafox earned his first win of the season after throwing 1.1 innings with two strikeouts in game one
- Sophomore pitcher Trevyn Wells recorded his second win of the season in game two while totaling six strikeouts and two walks

- As a staff on the week against two of the top offenses in the league, the Golden Bears put up a 3.23 ERA and a .254 opponent average with 25 strikeouts in 39.0 innings

- Zach Lauzon worked 6.0 innings of one-hit ball while striking out three while picking up a shutout win over Augie on Sunday
- Cole Kirchoff paced the offense with three RBIs, four hits and three steals on the week as he finished with a .267 batting average and a .313 on-base percentage

- UMary posted a season-high 17 hits in the final game of the UMC series
- The Marauders wrap up 12 straight games as the home team with a doubleheader against Minot State on Tuesday, April 16. The two games will be broadcast statewide on BEK Sports

- For the second straight week, Fr. RHP Jonathan Draheim pitched a complete game victory for the Marauders. He allowed three hits, one walk and no earned runs in seven innings in a 3-1 win over Winona State
- He threw five perfect innings in innings 2-6 and recorded 17 straight outs
- Fr. RHP Daniel Turner held Winona State to three hits, one walk and no earned runs while striking out four in five innings of work in the Marauders 3-2 walk-off victory earned when Connor Doll was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded
- Jesus Payan was 12-for-18 with a slash line of .667/.700/.944 over five games. He hit a home run and two doubles, scored twice and drove in eight runs
- Payan capped the week with a 4-for-5 effort against UMC, hitting a home run and driving in five runs to tie the Marauders NCAA-era single game mark
- Connor Doll hit .400/.478/.400 (8-for-20), scoring three time and driving in three runs. He had the game-winning RBI against Winona State when he was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to force home the winning run
- In two appearances last week, Charles Bielejeski picked up his first collegiate win against Winona State and a save against UMC
- He pitched 3.2 scoreless innings, allowing two hits and two walks and striking out five

- The Golden Eagles won their fourth series of conference play over the weekend

- Reed Hjelle collected seven hits in five games this weekend, including three homeruns in two wins over UMARY
- Landyn Swenson continued to set the table at the top of the order. The junior from Devils Lake, N.D., gathered six hits and scored five runs on the weekend against the Marauders
- Dalton Grose shut the door yet again with his seventh save of the season, which leads the NSIC
- Brock Reller had five RBI’s in Sunday’s win over the Marauders, which adds on to his already team leading 34 RBI’s
- Reller is ninth in the conference with that RBI total

- Tim Pokornowski and Eric Yachinich each tallied their first homers of the season
- Junior outfielder Drew Stewart had seven hits and raised his batting average 22 points to .265

- The offense had a .613 slugging percentage and a .480 on-base percentage and had 49 RBI in the five games
- Offensively the Mavericks hit .387 on the week with 54 runs as the pitching staff held a 1.89 earned-run average with 46 strikeouts and eight walks

- Senior outfielder Jordan Hart hit .429 with a 1.286 slugging percentage and a .500 on-base percentage for a 1.786 OPS. His nine hits included a double, a triple and five home runs with a grand slam. He also had eight runs scored, 12 RBI, two walks and a hit by pitch
- Sophomore outfielder Jack Waletich had a slashline of .750/1.125/.833 in five games played. He had three doubles, seven runs scored, three stolen bases and was hit by a pitch four times
- Sophomore outfielder/RHP Cam Kline hit .533/1.000/.650 on the week with four doubles, a home run, five RBI, three runs scored and five walks. Kline (7-0) gave up six runs (three earned runs) on seven hits and a walk, while striking out 10 in six innings
- Sophomore right-hander Jimmy Larson (5-3) went 2-0 on the week with a 0.69 ERA in 13 innings pitched, including a complete game. He gave up one run on nine hits and two walks, while striking out 18

- Over the past five games, Christian Lazar has made two appearances and worked 6 1/3 innings with five hits allowed and 10 strikeouts. He held opponents to a .208 batting average and earned a win to improve to 3-1 on the season
- Sophomore starter Brandon Roesler allowed three unearned runs in a 3-2 loss to second place Wayne State as he fell to 0-6 on the season. He worked six innings and allowed seven hits while striking out four hitters
- Freshman centerfielder Connor King hit .308 with four hits, four runs scored in 13 at bats
- Grant Lung had eight RBI on the week and leads USF with 29 RBI

- Najee Gaskins was 7-17 with a three-hit performance against UMD in game three. Gaskins recorded four RBI’s on the week
- Cal Giese recorded his 20th career win for SCSU after only allowing two earned runs on five hits in his five innings of work against UMD in game one
- Sheldon Miks did not allow an earned run and struck out nine in his six innings of work against UMD in game two. Miks only allowed five Bulldogs to reach base in his sixth win of the season, and 25th in his career. Miks is now tied for the 5th most wins in program history
