NSIC Player of the Year
#17 Lani Van Zyl (SS, Jr., L/R, Fort. Dodge, Iowa / Fort Dodge HS)
Winona State University
- Led the NSIC in batting average (.548) and on-base percentage (.598)
- Ranks fourth in NSIC in slugging percentage (.849), seventh in runs (25), 12th in RBIs (23)
- Was tied for third in the NSIC in hits (40) and doubles (10)
- Has recorded career highs in hits (71), walks (21), OBP, slugging, average, runs, RBI and home runs this season
- Ranks 12th in Division II with a .470 batting average which is on pace to set a WSU single-season record
- Has 23 multi-hit games and only been held hitless in five ballgames
- Posted a career-best 20-game hitting streak from March 8-April 21
- 122 total bases rank 18th in Division II
NSIC Pitcher of the Year
#3 Jordyn Kleman (RHP, So., R/R, LaCrosse, Wis. / Logan HS)
Winona State University
- 18-1 record with a 1.63 ERA and a .205 opponent batting average in all games played
- Sixteen complete games and eight shutouts
- Two no-hitters, including a five-inning perfect game on April 28th vs. MSU Moorhead
- Single-game career-high 15 strikeouts in no-hitter at Wayne State on April 5th
- Led the league in ERA (1.03) in 75 innings pitched during NSIC play
- Led NSIC in strikeouts (100), shutouts (6) and opponent batting average (.178)
- Was second in NSIC in wins (11) and complete games (10)
- Ranks ninth in Division II in strikeout-to-walk ratio (6.76)
NSIC Freshman of the Year
#26 Ashley Mickschl (P/DP, Fr., R/R, Woodbury, Minn. / Woodbury HS)
Augustana University
- Posted second highest batting average in NSIC this season at .451, ranking 27th in nation
- Held the third best ERA in NSIC games played at 1.58 with 18 earned runs in 80 innings pitched
- Went 10-2 in NSIC play along with a pair of saves
- Was second in the NSIC in strikeouts with 76
- Her four shutouts in NSIC play ranked second best in the league
- Had ten complete games which ranked tied for second best in the NSIC
NSIC Newcomer of the Year
#16 Emma Noble (LF, So., R/R, Murray, Utah / Murry HS / Salt Lake CC)
University of Mary
- Led the Marauders in both slugging percentage (.709) and on base percentage (.429)
- Was second in batting average (.359) in her first season with the Marauders
- Posted a team-high 10 home runs and added six doubles
- Scored 23 runs and posted 28 RBIs
- Was walked 13 times, struck out only 21 times and stole four bases on five attempts
- In NSIC games only, hit .391/.457/.797 with eight home runs and 23 RBIs in 24 games
- Her eight home runs in league play tied for the NSIC high and she was fifth in slugging percentage
- In her last six games of the season, she hit three home runs, had 12 RBIs and scored seven times
- Defensively committed just two errors in left field, had six assists and started two double plays
NSIC Coach of the Year
Greg Jones
Winona State University
- Holds a 743-254 career record at Winona State in 18 seasons
- Has guided WSU to each of its 12 40-win seasons
- Fourth NSIC Championship and first since 2007
- Has led WSU to six NSIC Tournament titles
- Entered the 2018 campaign ranked 12th all-time among DII coaches in career winning percentage (.737) and 20th in active wins (702)
- Third NSIC Coach of the Year award
- Has led WSU to the NCAA Tournament in eight of the past nine seasons
