NSIC Volleyball Players of the Week 

NSIC Offensive Player of the Week
#10 Laura Snyder (S/RS, 6-1, Fr., Ham Lake, Minn. / Blaine HS)
Northern State
- Led the Northern State offense in their three wins with 46 kills and a .519 attack percentage
- Averaged 4.18 kills per set
- Recorded just four hitting errors in 81 swings
- Added four blocks, four assists, four service aces, and 15 digs
- Hit .563 versus MSU Moorhead, and tallied a career high 20 kills against Upper Iowa
- Currently sits third in the NSIC with a .448 season attack percentage

St. Cloud State
- Helped St. Cloud State knock off No. 18 Wayne State 3-0 on Saturday
- Led the NSIC last week with a 7.00 dig per set averaged
- Had 22 digs versus No. 6 UMD, 31 digs in four sets against No. 12 Augustana and 17 digs in three sets against WSC
- Totaled 70 digs in the 10 sets played

Northern State
- Accumulated 146 assists in NSU’s three wins, averaging a season high 13.27 assists per set on the week
- Tallied over 40 assists in all three matches
- Notched 40 assists, averaging 13.33 per set against MSUM
- Recorded 48 assists, averaging 12.00 per set against No. 9 WSU
- Dished out 58 assists, averaging a season high 14.50 per set against UIU
- Added four kills, three service aces, five blocks, and 20 digs
- Climbed to fourth in the league averaging 11.59 assists per set

- With 21 digs on Friday vs. St. Cloud State, libero Tahlyr Banks became Augustana’s all-time leader in digs (2,040) - Senior setter Alex Banker accounted for another double-double with 33 assists and 11 digs - Courtney Place (17), Bailey Koch (13), Ashley Wilson (12) each had double-digit kills in the loss to Duluth on Saturday

- Freshman Anna Averkamp led the Beavers offensively, averaging 1.75 kills per set and totaled 21 during the week. Becka Cronin and Jessica Reega each followed with 19 kills a piece - Setter Sami Leach averaged 6.50 assists per set and also had 18 kills - Emma Halllmann led the team with 48 digs (4.00/s) while Maddie Filipiak led the team with 14 blocks (1.17/s)

- CSP moved to 5-0 in NSIC play for the 12th time in 15 years under Brady Starkey after picking up three wins on their home court this week - The Golden Bears held opponents to .154 hitting percentage while hitting.260 en route to a 147-111 edge in kills in the three wins - Concordia picked up a big edge in serving as they finished with 25 service aces and 16 service errors while their opponents had 16 aces and 21 errors on the week

- Brooklyn Lewis led the team with 38 kills (3.45 per set) while hitting an efficient .412 for the week as she led the team in kills in two of the three matches - Hope Schiller paced the squad with 44 digs (4.00 per set) to go along with 33 kills (3.00 per set) as she picked up double-doubles against both MSU and U-Mary

- UMary earned its first NSIC victory of the season with a 3-1 win at Minot State. The Marauders hit .221, their second-best mark of the season - The Marauders begin a four-game home stand against Winona State on Sept. 29, after playing four straight road games - The UMary/Upper Iowa game on Saturday, Sept. 30, will be played at 9 am

- Lauren Randall leads the NSIC in kills/set with 4.64. She had 26 kills and 11 digs against Minot State. The senior closed the week with 17 kills and 10 digs against #2 Concordia-St. Paul. For the week she averaged 4.18 kills/set and 2.27 digs/set and hit .287. - Amanda Lopes distributed 43 assists and added two kills in the Marauders 3-1 win over the Beavers - Katelyn Olson was second on the squad during the week with 16 kills and 41 assists - Geovana Almeida averaged a team-high 2.82 digs/set

University of Minnesota Crookston Golden Eagles

- The Golden Eagles hit .125 for the week with 10.6 kills per set in three matches - Minnesota Crookston was also strong defensively as they notched 15.08 digs per set in three matches - The Golden Eagles played strong on the weekend as they tested Sioux Falls and No. 1 Southwest Minnesota State Minnesota Crookston was within two points of USF in the first two sets, before taking a third set win. On Saturday, the Golden Eagles struggled in set one but bounced back to make it difficult in sets two and three against the Mustangs, losing by a combined 10 points in those sets -    Minnesota Crookston notched 2.00 blocks per set on the week and averaged 1.17 service aces per set

- Kassi Green averaged 4.25 kills per set and hit .179 on the week - Kelci Green tallied 2.58 kills per set and hit .300 for the week, and also averaged 1.08 blocks per set - Kaycie Hagen notched 9.25 assists per set - Maggie Perrel notched 3.17 digs per set

- Sarah Kelly posted 42 kills on a .434 hitting percentage. She matched her career-best with 18 kills vs No. 12 Augustana - Makenzie Morgen recorded a double-double in each contest bringing her total to seven. Had 3.91 kills/set and 3.55 digs/set - Allison Olley had 27 kills (2.43 kills per set) and had 14 total blocks last week - Emily Torve averaged 12.4 assists per set and conducted the team hitting .342 for the week - Keena Seiffert posted 4.00 digs per set and grabbed a career-high 18 digs twice

-Junior Sydney Powell led the Mavericks with 35 kills (3.50/s) over the weekend to go along with a .313 hitting percentage - The week was highlighted by a match-high 16 kill performance at No. 2 Concordia-St. Paul - Freshman Micayla Porter set the pace with 56 assists (5.60/s). She reached double-digits in all three matches last week including a match-high 22 assists vs. U-Mary. Porter also chipped in five service aces - Freshman Mara Quam recorded a team-leading 35 digs (3.50/s) to go along with a match-high 15 digs at No. 2 Concordia-St. Paul

- Setter Ellie Hoyt had 52 set assists, averaging 5.78 assists per set - Libero Monica Vega had 48 digs in three matches, averaging 5.33 per set - Freshman OH Lauren Kiewiet had 20 kills in three matches and also had 16 set assists and five blocks - Sophomore MB Kaylyn Jenkins had nine blocks on the week

- No. 19 NSU rolled through the competition in the second week of NSIC play, defeat MSU Moorhead, No. 9 Winona State, and (RV) Upper Iowa - On the week, the Wolves averaged 15.5 kills, 14.7 assists, 17.0 digs, 1.4 service aces, and 1.5 blocks per set - They hit .374 through 11 sets, while holding their opponents to a .172 mark on defense - NSU doubled their opponents block total on the week with 16 as a team - Northern currently ranks second in the league in hitting percentage (.324), and leads the league in opponent hitting percentage (.140) - NSU is also second in the NSIC in service aces (1.73/set), and first in opponent service aces (0.59/set)

- Shook off a mid-week loss to No. 1 Southwest Minnesota with a pair of road victories over Minnesota Crookston and Bemidji State - Took the second set and held a set-point chance against No. 1 SMSU in the third set, but ultimately fell in four sets to the undefeated Mustangs - Hitting the road for their first weekend road trip, USF notched two 3-1 victories with defense carrying the way - USF held their weekend opponents to a combined .073 attack percentage and the Cougars averaged 15.88 digs per set for the weekend

- Janelle Lam averaged 4.67 digs per set, picking up a total of 56 on the weekend - Makenna Rockeman led the Cougars with 36 total kills - Lexi Scott posted 29 kills at a USF-leading .281 attack percentage - Megan Hamstad handed out an average of 9.17 assists per set and connected on seven kills

- Taylor Reiss averaged 4.33 k/set and had 12 total digs over the weekend - Brooke Borchardt averaged 4.17 k/set with a .647 attack percentage - Borchardt set a career high with 26 kills vs. Minnesota Crookston - Megan Larson averaged 12.83 assists/set over the weekend while contributing nine total kills

- Nicole Miller led the team in kills on the week with 28 (2.80 per set) - Marah Mulso picked up 24 kills and hit .259 on the week - Abby Templin hit .266 with 22 kills - Clara Krenz recorded 70 digs (7.0 per set)

- UIU swept the Dragons of MSU Moorhead in between a pair of four-set losses to nationally-ranked opponents in Dorman Gym last week - The Peacocks limited their opponents to a .189 hitting percentage for the week, but only managed a .169 percentage themselves - Upper Iowa averaged 10.8 kills and 19.8 digs per set while winning 5 of the 11 sets played - The Peacocks claimed the first set in all three matches; 25-18 over the #9 Warriors, 25-11 over the Dragons and 25-23 over the #19 Wolves

- Anna Winter put down 33 kills in the three matches averaging 3 kills/set, while five other Peacocks averaged between 11 and 17 kills for the week - Malissa LeClaire had 75 assists (6.8/set) and Carlee Ketchum and Ashley Larson added 15 and 12, respectively - Defensively, LeClaire led the team in digs with 52 (4.7/set) and Larson followed closely with 48 (4.4/set) - Bethany Lovhaug played big at the net denying 15 attacks at the net. Her 2 solo blocks and 13 assisted stops averaged 1.4/set
