NSIC Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week
Benjamin Allen (So., North St. Paul, Minn. / North St. Paul HS)
Concordia-St. Paul

- Set the CSP school record in the 8K with a 25:55.3 time at the UW-Parkside Vic Godfrey Open
- Was the third fastest non-DI finisher in a field that featured four of 10 teams from the DI ranks
- Finish ninth of the 167 runners as he ran the fastest 8K time in the NSIC this season
- Finished 47 seconds faster than the previous program best for the UWP course of 26:42
- Along with Caleb Troe, among 52 DII athletes to have produced a sub-26 minute 8k in 2017
- Helped the team to a sixth place finish in the 10 team field, besting two DI programs

- Benjamin Allen set a new Concordia-St. Paul program record at the 8K distance with a time of 25:55.3, placing ninth of 167 total runners and finishing third among non-Division I runners
- Caleb Troe was just a spot behind Allen in 10th place with a new PR and just 2.1 seconds off of Allen’s new school record for the fourth fastest mark in program history

- The team finished in sixth of 10 teams, coming in ahead of two Division I programs UW-Green Bay & UW-Milwaukee in a meet that featured four DI teams

- Junior all-conference runner Derek Myers finished third overall and second among collegiate runners at the MSU Moorhead Twilight with a time of 18:45.8
- He was just 2.5 seconds behind the top collegiate finisher
- Tyler Erickson led a pack of three other Marauders who finished in the top ten
- The senior from Roseau, MN, placed sixth, followed by Kevin Carpenter in seventh and Creighton Barrett in tenth
Team Notes
- Finished 2nd overall, just two points behind host MSU Moorhead 47-49
- The Dragons were picked second in the NSIC preseason poll while the Marauders were fifth

- Julian Manley (21:36.4, 30th), Andrew Ruiz(21:38.2, 32nd), Jacob Wahlers (21.57.8, 45th), Isaiah Rabata (22.16.1, 51st) and junior Derek Cruz (22:48.5, 58th)

- The Mavericks scored 79 points in ranking just behind the second-place finishers from Drake, who combined for 51 points
