NSIC Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week

MSU Moorhead
- Set a new school record in 5000 meters at the Drake Relays
- Ran a time of 14:19.87 which placed him ninth in the unseeded 5,000 meters
- The time is an NCAA provisional qualifying time and also best in NSIC this season
- Ranks as the 22nd fastest time in Division II this season

- Tied school record and hit second automatic qualifying mark of the season at the
Drake Relays
- Placed second in the pole vault, the top Division II finisher, by clearing 5.20 meters (17-0.75)
- Ranks fourth in NCAA Division II this season and owns the top mark in the NSIC this year
- Third time in his career clearing 17 feet in the outdoor season, the only USF pole vaulter to achieve that during the outdoor season
- Named NSIC Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week for the second time this season (4/18/17)

- Nasru Wado surpassed Nate Thienes' record-setting mark set in 2013 by two inches as he cleared 159'5" to grab a sixth place finish in the hammer throw.
- Tyler Naumowicz clocked in with one of the two wins for the men as he turned around from a second place finish in the prelims of the 110 meter hurdles to win the finals with a time of 15.65 seconds. Naumowicz also took fifth in the 400 meter hurdles while also performing as the team's lone representative in the same event at the Bolstorff Invitational on the campus of Macalester on Thursday night. He took third in that event. |

- Sr. Andrew Dubiel placed second in the discus with an NCAA provisional qualifying toss of 166-11.50 at the Al Cassell Relays to place second
- Marceau Jovin (15.75 seconds) and teammate Beau Nutting placed 1-2 in the 110 meter hurdles
- Fr. Sam Wilke won a narrow victory in the 1,500 meter run as his time of 4:06.59 was just .95 seconds ahead of the runner-up
- Tyler Erickson claimed a decisive victory in the 3,000 meter steeple chase as the junior completed the course in 9:45.36, over 20 seconds faster than the second place finisher
- Austin Lucero tied for second in the 400 meter dash at 50.902 seconds
- Josh Wolfekuhle took second in the 400 meter hurdles (56.26 seconds)
- Jack Lamb was second in the long jump (6.60 meters) and the high jump (1.92 meters) |

- Connor Behm placed first in the 200-meter dash, was part of UMD's title-winning 4 x 100 relay unit and as well as its 4 x 400 relay team that placed second
- Behm prevailed in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.33 to shade teammate and fellow junior Austin Carlson (22.36)
- He teamed with freshmen Sam Wiechman and Kelvin Kwarteng and junior Nick Beattie to claim the 4 x 100 relay crown (43.28) and with Wiechman, Carlson and sophomore Ryan Tolkinen in the 4 x 400 relay event (3:25.86)
- Luke Lahr battled the cold, the wind and some 64 other runners to claim the 5,000-meter run title at the Bolstorff Twilight meet on Thursday in St. Paul
- Posted a personal best time of 14:55.82, which was nearly 58 seconds better than his previous high and the fourth-best mark in the NSIC |

- In the high jump Michael Sandle finished eighth with a leap of 6-9.75 and Alex Campbell finished 15th with a jump of 6-8

- The SMSU men's 4x200 relay team of Dallin Finley, Ben Ryan, Matt Konrad and Gabe Galamue recorded a school record time of 1:29.33 to finish eighth out 19 in the college division
- SMSU's sprint medley team of Ryan, Galamue, Zach Jones and Chris Kveseth recorded a 13th place finish crossing the line in 3:34.10
- SMSU's 4x100 men's relay team also competed but did not finish because of a dropped baton
- In Indianola, Iowa, on Friday, the Mustang men's team was led by Bashir Aidrus, who placed third in the steeplechase with a time of 9:55.61
- Austin LaFollette also had a strong meet with a fourth place time of 54.61 in the 400 meter hurdles. |
