NSIC Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week

Sprints, So., Wells, Minn.  / United South Central HS
Minnesota State

- Set a new school record in the 400-meter dash with a time of 47.30 at the NSIC/MIAA Showdown
- His time is the fastest in the NSIC and ranks eighth in NCAA DII this season
- His time is an NCAA provisional qualifying time
- Was part of the 4X400-meter relay team that finished first in a time of 3:16.44
- Helped MSU to a first place team finish at the NSIC/MIAA Showdown

- Finished first in the pole vault at 16-7.25 at the NSIC/MIAA Showdown
- Height is the sixth highest mark in NCAA DII season and leads the NSIC 
- His height is an NCAA provisional qualifying mark
- Helped MSU to a first place team finish at the NSIC/MIAA Showdown

- Josh Barrows won the 400-meters with a personal best times, the 400-meter hurdles and was on the dual clinching coed 4x400-relay team
- Glen Ellingson won the 1,500-meters and the 3,000-meters
- Nathan Schroeder took first in the 1,500-meter steeplechase for the Vikings

- Benjamin Allen put in another solid effort in the 5000 meter run for the men as he picked up a team-best six points by placing third with a time of 15:55.23
- Tyler Naumowicz followed close behind with four points in the 400 meter hurdles while also assisting in scoring a point in the 4x400 meter relay. Naumowicz took fifth in the 400 meter hurdles while the 4x400 meter team took ninth

- CSP’s men finished in ninth place with 19 points in the meet

- Luxon Glor captured the 100 meter dash with a blistering NCAA provisional qualifying time of 10.59 seconds
- Glor also won the long jump with a mark of 7.03 meters
- Glor led UMary to a win in the 4x100 meter hurdles
- Joined by Zack Graves, Connor Graves and Colton Stoltz, the Marauders registered a time of 42.51 seconds
- Tyrell Rosencranz claimed the triple jump with a provisional qualifying effort of 14.74 meters, winning the event by .39 meters (1-3.50)
- He also finished second to Glor in the long jump with a mark of 6.94 meters
- Kevin Carpenter claimed the 3,000 meter title
- The junior finished the race in a crisp 8:46.91 to win by nearly eight seconds

- The Marauders captured ten different events and posted three NCAA provisional qualifying marks at the Al Bortke Open

- Freshman Nadif Yusuf was second in the 3,000-meter run

- Daniel Daffinrud finished with a pair of personal-best times, taking third in the 200-meters with a time of 22.31 seconds and fourth in the 100-meters with a 10.99
- Josh Drew also recorded two PRs in the shorts sprints, taking fifth in the 200 with a 22.43 and 11th overall in the 100 with an 11.18
- Joel Cartwright doubled up with the 3k and the 1,500, finishing seventh overall in the 3K (9:20.62) and eighth in the 1,500 (4:13.10)
- Tanner Gust, Kevin Hodges and Jacob Hatfield went 4-5-6 in the men’s hammer throw with Hodges earning a PR

- TJ Hochstetler won the decathlon with a personal best 5,981 points, earning ten team points for the Wolves
- Zachary Ulmer finished second in the 800m run, hitting the line at 1:56.33
- Adam Leach was less than a second behind finishing third overall in the event
- Itoitz Rodriguez finished fifth in the 400m dash with a time of 48.33
- Deshonn Brown placed fourth in the high jump, clearing 2.03m
- Monte Meyerink finished fifth in the javelin, throwing 44.71m
Team Notes
- The Northern State University Wolves finished fifth as a team from the NSIC vs. MIAA Showdown with 60 total points
- Through the 3-day competition the Wolves tallied 19 top-10 finishes, including a decathlon win by Hochstetler

- Three USF men’s pole vaulters recorded NCAA provisional qualifying marks
- Jacob Zebedee, Scott Greenman and Jagger Gran all cleared 4.86m (15-11.25), which ranks 22nd in NCAA Division II this season
- Teddy Frid won three events at the Greeno-Butler Dual, taking the 110-meter hurdles (14.71w), high jump (1.90m/6-2.75) and javelin (45.68m/149-10) titles, and third in the 200-meter (22.97w)
- Zach Lundberg won the men’s 800-meter run (2:02.27) and placed second in the 1,500-meter (4:08.03)
- Cody Buer won the 200-meter dash (22.93w) and was fourth in the 400-meter dash (53.20)
Team Notes
- USF won 11 of the 17 men’s events and outscored Augustana 100-81
- Cougars recorded 15 top-10 marks on the NSIC performance list this season
- USF’s 4x100 relay team of Jonathon Rowe, Evan Hagen, Cody Buer, Cole Buer won in 43.00

- Senior Alex Weis had an outstanding toss in the hammer on Friday, recording a second place finish with an NCAA provisional toss of 54.35m
- Weis also took home third place in the shot put with a toss of 15.64m and finished fourth in the discus at 45.11m
- Sophomore Josh Behning won the discus with a personal best and NCAA provisional mark of 49.72m
- Junior Hamilton Mateski had a strong day in the javelin with a throw of 46.26m to earn second place honors
 - Redshirt freshman Gabe Galamue advanced to the finals in the 100 meters and finished in seventh place with a time of 10.9
- Senior Dallin Finley ran 22.07 in the 200 meters to finish in seventh place
