BURNSVILLE, Minn. – The NSIC Women’s & Men's Indoor Track & Field Championships will kick off Sunday and Monday, February 12-13 from Myers Field House in Mankato, Minnesota with the women’s pentathlon and the men's heptathlon. The pentathlon will begin at 2 p.m. with the heptathlon to follow at 3 p.m.
The pentathlon will start out with the 60m hurdles, followed by the high jump, shot put, long jump and the 800m run. Augustana sophomore Olivia Montez Brown will return to defend her 2016 title. Montez Brown has already provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championships this season after scoring 3808 during the Minnesota State Multi & Open back on January 27.
The heptathlon will begin on Sunday with the 60m dash followed by the long jump, shot put and high jump. Events continue Monday morning at 11 a.m. with the 60m hurdles, the pole vault and the 1000 run. Concordia-St. Paul senior Tyler Naumowicz will return to defend his 2016 title. Naumowicz currently sits fifth in the NSIC after he scored 4686 at the MSU Multis and Open. Sioux Falls sophomore Teddy Frid leads the NSIC with his 5056 mark after winning the MSU Multis and Open Heptathlon.
The NSIC Indoor Track & Field Championships will conclude on Friday-Saturday, February 24-25 at Myers Fieldhouse. For more information go to the championship website at:
