LEXINGTON, Ky. - The accolades continue to pile up for the second-ranked Southwest Minnesota State volleyball team as the American Volleyball Coaches' Association (AVCA) has named Taylor Reiss the Central Region Player of the Year. 

Reiss, a native of Minneota, Minn., set an SMSU record and an NSIC Tournament record with 41 kills on Saturday, Nov. 18 against Augustana in the Mustangs' semifinal round win over the Vikings. Reiss has six matches with at least 20 kills and 20 digs this season with 20 or more kills in 12 matches. Reiss currently ranks second in SMSU history in kills per set (4.66) and surpassed her 2016 mark for fourth most kills in a single season with 578 entering the NCAA Central Region tournament.
