NSIC Player of the Week
Kornelia Staniszewska (Fr., Opalenie, Poland / Sopocka Akademia Tenisowa) - Augustana

- Defeated No. 6  Maria Josie Zehnder from Southwest Baptist 6-3, 4-6, 7-6 in No. 1 singles
- Teamed with Jessa Richards and defeated SBU’s Christina Zentai and Lara Soares 8-3 at No. 1 Doubles
- Defeated Lorena Rivas Jarolim from Northwest Missouri State 6-0, 6-0
- Teamed with Richards to defeat Jarolim and Kaja Emersic 8-3

NSIC Team Notes:
Augustana

- Augie lost to No. 10 Southwest Baptist 5-4 on Saturday
- Augie defeated Northwest Missouri State 5-2 on Sunday
- Jessa Richards went 1-1 at No. 2 singles and 2-0 at No.1 Doubles
- Meredith Lawrence went 3-0 over the weekend
 
Bemidji State
- BSU took a break form NSIC play March 5-6, posting a 2-0 record versus non conference competition
- BSU swept Concordia College, 9-0, Saturday in its last home match of the 2016 season, before hitting the road for an 8-1 non conference victory over Minnesota Crookston
- Morgan Opp led the Beavers with a 4-0 record on the weekend. She was 2-0 at No. 1 singles and 2-0 at No. 1 doubles with Zoe Lindgren
- Justin Scheller, Claudia Bellew and Breann Walsh all were 2-0 in singles play
- The Beavers improve to 6-4 overall and 3-4 in NSIC play
- BSU travels to River Falls, Wis. March 11 for a pair of non conference match ups. BSU will battle Wisconsin-Steven’s Point at noon before a 3 p.m. Meeting with Wisconsin-River Falls before spring break

University of Mary
- U-Mary went 1-3 on the week down in Florida, with their only win coming against Ave Maria on the last day
- Catherine Gibbens went 3-1 in singles on the week as she split time between the number one and two singles spots
- Gibbens battled back from a two-set deficit to force the super tiebreaker against Dana Goggins from Augustana College and clinched the win at 1-6, 7-5, 10-8
- Meredith Holt went 2-2 in singles on the week as she took home wins against Camila Branster from Ave Maria and Sophie Allen from Otterbein
- The Marauders will resume their schedule on March 13 when they take on Concordia College (Minn.) in Fargo, N.D.

Minnesota Crookston
- UMC fell to BSU 8-1 on Sunday
- UMC will head to Hilton Head, S.C. for three matches next week

Minnesota Duluth
- UMD went 0-2 last week falling to Morningside 6-3 and Gustavus 8-1
- The Bulldogs are off until April 3 when they will host MSU and SMSU

Minnesota State
- MSU defeated Meredith College 5-4 to open up their trip to Puerto Rico
- MSU will play three more matches in Puerto Rico

MSU Moorhead
- The Dragons were idle last week
- MSUM will return on March 13-17 for matches in Florida

Sioux Falls
- USF has set a program record with six consecutive match wins
- USF  will head to Florida as the Cougars play several nonconference matches
- USF opens play at Lee University on Monday at 10 a.m. in Orlando, Fla.
- In addition USF will face Tarleton State at 9 a.m. on Wednesday and also compete against Cedarville on Thursday, March 10
- The Cougars stand 8-2 overall and 5-1 in league play
- USF is coming off a two-week stretch winning four straight home NSIC matches

Southwest Minnesota State
- SMSU lost to Tarleton State 8-1 and Lee (Tenn.) 9-0 to start their Florida trip
- The Mustangs take on Methodist and University of Sciences (Pa.) this week in Florida

St. Cloud State
- The St. Cloud State women’s tennis team owns a 4-4, 4-2 record in the NSIC this season
- The Huskies will resume their 2016 schedule on March 8 with a match against the University of the Sciences
- This will mark the start of a series of matches in Orlando, Florida
- SCSU will also play Lee, Charleston, Penn State Berks, Methodist and Bentley on its spring break trip through March 14

Upper Iowa
- Upper Iowa was idle last week
- The Peacocks begin their spring break trip this week with five matches in Oklahoma

Winona State
- WSU fell to Saint Mary’s 4-3 last Friday
- The Warriors are off until March 19 match with Upper Iowa
