NSIC Men’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week
Keegan Carda (Junior, Sioux Falls, S.D. / Washington HS) - Augustana
- Finished fifth at the Roy Griak Invitational
- Was the top NSIC finisher with a time of 26:17
- Set a season best time for an 8K course
- The fifth place finish was a career best at the Griak
- Led Vikings to a third place team finish

NSIC Cross Country teams will compete in various meets throughout the fall with the season culminating in Falcon Heights, Minnesota on Saturday, October 24 at the NSIC Cross Country Championships held at Les Bolstad Golf Course.  The NCAA Regional will take place two weeks later on Saturday, November 7 in Joplin, Missouri. The NCAA DII National Cross Country Championships will be held on Saturday, November 21 at Tom Rutledge CC Course in Joplin, Missouri.

NSIC Men's Cross Country Team Notes
Augustana
- The Vikings took third place at the 8K Roy Griak Invitational
- Keegan Carda was the top NSIC runner, finishing fifth with a time of 26:17
- Nathan Hauge took 12th with a time of 26:33
- Augustana will return to action on October 10 at the Briar Cliff Invitational in McCook Lake, South Dakota

Concordia-St. Paul
- CSP placed 35th at the Roy Griak Invitational
- Freshman Caleb Troe led the Golden Bears for the third straight race
- Troe finished with a time of 29:29.3 to place 208th
- CSP will run at the Bob Waxlax Invitational on Oct. 9 at Wapicada Golf Course in Sauk Rapids, Minnesota

University of Mary
- The Marauders finished a school-best ninth at the Roy Griak Invitational and third among NSIC teams
- Chris Jessop placed 12th and was second among runners from the NSIC
- U-Mary was just two points behind MSU Moorhead for 8th place
- Two other Marauders placed in the top-50 as Kevin Carpenter claimed 35th and Thomas Neale finished 46th
- U-Mary will take this weekend off before racing in the Jimmie Open on Oct. 9

Minnesota Duluth
- UMD finished tenth at the Roy Griak Invitational with 283 points
- Cody Sedbrook placed 23rd out of 392 finishers with an 8K time of 27:02
- UMD will run at the Bob Waxlax Invitational on Oct. 9 at Wapicada Golf Course in Sauk Rapids, Minnesota

Minnesota State
- The Minnesota State men’s cross country team placed 20th at the 2015 Roy Griak Invitational
- Freshman Austin Pasch (27:44) placed 63rd as the top Minnesota State individual at the Griak meet
- MSU will run at the Bob Waxlax Invitational on Oct. 9 at Wapicada Golf Course in Sauk Rapids, Minnesota

MSU Moorhead
- The Dragons finished eighth out of 37 teams at the Roy Griak Invitational
- Josh Young (Fr., Moorhead, Minn.) placed 41st in a time of 27:21
- The Dragons finished with 261 points and were the second-highest NSIC finisher
- Senior Tyler Hennen finished in the top 55, taking 53rd at 27:35
- The Dragons had five runners in the top 66
- MSUM will take this weekend off before racing in the Jimmie Open on Oct. 9

Minot State
- The Beavers finished 33rd out of 37 teams at the Roy Griak Invitational
- Joel Cartwright (Jr., Great Falls, Mont.) paced the Beavers with a time of 29:05 to take 145th
- Devan Shumway (Fr., Williston, N.D.) came in at 29:16 to finish in 163rd
- The Beavers are off until Oct. 9 when they travel to the University of Jamestown Jimmie Invite

Northern State
-    Northern State finished 29th overall at the Roy Griak Invitational
-    The Wolves were led by freshmen Tanner Peltier who finished with a time of 28:45 to place 128th
-    NSU returns to action next Saturday at the SDSU Classic, race time is scheduled for 10:30 a.m.

Sioux Falls
- The Cougars were idle last week
- Next for the Cougars will be the Briar Cliff Invitational on Oct. 10 in McCook Lake, South Dakota

Southwest Minnesota State
- SMSU finished in 25th place at the Roy Griak Invitational
- Evan Bonneson (So., Cottage Grove, Minn.) finished 71st with a time of 27:55
- Bonneson placed highest among SMSU runners in all three races this season
- SMSU will run at the Bob Waxlax Invitational on Oct. 9 at Wapicada Golf Course in Sauk Rapids, Minnesota
 
St. Cloud State
- SCSU finished in 26th place at the Roy Griak Invitational
- Chris Caron ran a 27:46 in the 8K to finish in 66th place
- Freshman Tremayne Collins finished in 151st place finish in a time of 29:08
- SCSU will host the Bob Waxlax Invitational on Oct. 9 at the Wapicada Golf Club in Sauk Rapids, Minnesota

Wayne State
- The Wildcats finished in 32nd place with a team score of 919 points at the Roy Griak Invitational
- Senior Justin Brueggemann crossed the line in 104th place out of 412 runners with a time of 28:13
- Next for the Wildcats will be the Briar Cliff Invitational on Oct. 10 in McCook Lake, South Dakota

Winona State
- WSU took home a 14th-place finish at the 37-team Roy Griak Invitational
- Junior Seth Reel led the Warriors with a 25th-place finish out of 392 runners with a time of 27:02.6
- Reed Parent finished 80th with a time of 27:59.4, while Dreux Selzler finished 94th and Nick Couillard was 98th
- WSU competes at the UW-Eau Claire Blugold Invite Friday at 5:15 p.m.
