Burnsville, Minn. - The NSIC / US Bank All-Sports Standings have been accumulated following the winter sports season and Augustana leads with 110 points. Minnesota State is just 1.5 points behind the Vikings with 108.5 while Minnesota Duluth, the leader after the fall season, slipped to third with 89 points.
Augustana used a share of the championship in men's basketball and second place finishes in wrestling and women's indoor track & field to vault into the lead. Minnesota State won the NSIC Men's Indoor Track & Field Championship and tied for second in women's basketball to keep pace with the Vikings.
The NSIC/US Bank All Sports Award is calculated by awarding the winner of each conference-sponsored championship points totaling the number of teams in that sport plus one. The next place finisher receives points totaling the number of teams less the number of places from first place. Ties in the standings at any level shall result in the totaling of points and equal distribution. Indoor and outdoor track & field are computed at half the total points as listed in the previous mentioned categories.
The All-Sports Champion will be announced following the spring season, with the award being presented at the NSIC Summer Kickoff in Burnsville, Minnesota in July.
