NSIC CO-PLAYER OF THE YEAR
#34 Dan Jansen
(C, 6-9, 240, Jr.,  Orange City, Iowa / MOC-Floyd Valley HS)
Augustana College


Daniel Jansen is the first Viking to earn NSIC Player of the Year honors and the first from Augustana to earn conference player of the year honors since 1982-83. Jansen, who was named the NSIC Freshman of the Year in 2012-13, averaged 30.3 minutes starting all 22 conference games in 2014-15. Jansen averaged 20.2 points, 6.9 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.3 steals in conference play this season and led the team in scoring in nine of the 22 games. He scored 20 or more points in conference play 13 times, including 33 in the conference opener against Wayne State on Nov. 24 and a season-high 35 against Northern State on Feb. 6. He led the team in rebounding eight times in conference play and recorded three double-doubles. Jansen dished out four or more assists in seven games, including a career-high seven against Winona State on Jan. 23. Jansen shot 52.7 percent from the field, 41.3 percent from 3-point range and hit 119 free throws and shot 76.8 percent from the line.

#2 Jordan Riewer

A five-time NSIC North Division Player of the Week, Riewer had an outstanding all-around season at point guard for MSU Moorhead. In 22 NSIC games, Riewer led the league in free-throw percentage (96.2), was second in three-point percentage (51.9), second in three-pointers made per game (3.0), second in assist-to-turnover ratio (3.4), third in assists per game (5.3) and sixth in scoring (17.7). Riewer helped the Dragons earn a share of the NSIC regular season championship and earn the NSIC North Division title for the second straight year.

NSIC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR
#32 Casey Schilling
(F, 6-6, 210, Jr., Ellsworth, Minn. / Ellsworth HS)
Augustana College


Casey Schilling started all 22 games, averaging 29.9 minutes per game and is the first player at Augustana to be named NSIC Defensive Player of the Year. Schilling averaged 18.2 points, 7.4 rebounds, 2.2 steals, 1.8 assists and 1.1 blocks per game. Schilling led the NSIC in steals in conference play and averaged 5.3 defensive boards per game. He recorded two or more steals in 15 of 22 games, including a career-high five steals on two occasions. Schilling blocked a career-high four shots against Minnesota State on Jan. 10 and against Minnesota Duluth on Jan. 17. He grabbed five or more defensive rebounds in 14 games, including a season-high 12 against Minnesota State on Jan. 10.

NSIC FRESHMAN OF THE YEAR
#23 Jordan Spencer

Jordan Spencer is the fourth Viking to earn NSIC Freshman of the Year honors since Augustana joined the league in 2008-09. Spencer played in 20 of 22 conference games, averaging 12.3 points and a team-high 6.4 assists to go along with 4.3 rebounds and 1.4 steals. Spencer ranked second in the NSIC in assists and dished out five or more in 16 of the 22 games. He recorded a career-high 10 assists picking up his first career double-double with 16 points and 10 assists against Minnesota State on Jan. 10. Spencer threatened a triple-double against Concordia-St. Paul on Jan. 9, finishing with 13 points, nine rebounds and eight assists. He scored in double-digits in 19 games, including a career-high 20 points at Upper Iowa on Feb. 20. Spencer shot 48 percent from the field, 47 percent from 3-point range and 82 percent from the free throw line in conference play.

NSIC NEWCOMER OF THE YEAR
#22 Connor Miller
(G, 6-4, 170, Sr.,  Stanley, Wis. /  Regis-Eau Claire HS)
Minnesota State University, Mankato


A transfer out of Stanley, Wis., senior guard Connor Miller joined the Minnesota State men’s basketball team in the fall of 2014 after playing three seasons at Samford University. For the season, Miller has averaged 12 points, 4.6 rebounds and 3.7 assists, while starting in all 28 games for MSU. In conference action, Miller has started in all 22 games while averaging 11.9 points and 4.7 rebounds per game. He has scored at least 11 points in 11 conference games, including a season-high 30 points against Upper Iowa on Dec. 12. He has 41.5 percent from the field in conference action, to go along with a 79.8 percent showing from the free throw line.

Chad Walthall

Chad Walthall led the Dragons to a share of the NSIC regular season championship and to an impressive 29-2 mark during the regular season. MSU Moorhead set single-season records for wins (29), conference wins (20) and winning percentage (.935). In 22 NSIC games, the Dragons led the league in scoring defense (66.5), scoring margin (+17.5), free-throw percentage (76.1) and field-goal defense (42.6). Walthall is now 105-43 as the Dragon head coach and surpassed the 200 career-win plateau earlier this season.
