Goergen charted a 4-0 record at the 2015 NWCA National Duals on Jan. 9-10 in Fort Wayne, Ind. Goergen helped guide the Huskies to a third place finish, which included a 25-13 win over Fort Hays State, a 22-17 win over No. 4 Ouachita Baptist and a 26-6 win over No. 17 Upper Iowa in the third place bout. Goergen opened the tournament with a 11-3 major decision over #6 Jack Page of Fort Hays State. He continue his winning ways with a 2:34 fall against Blake Andrews of Ouachita Baptist that proved to be the winning points for the Huskies. Goergen then carded a big 4-2 win over #3 ranked Donnell Walker of Maryville. He ended his perfect weekend with a 5-4 victory over Upper Iowa’s #7 Logan Hopp. On the season, Goergen is now 22-1 and he has 13 falls to his credit in 2014-15. This marks the second time this season Goergen has been named NSIC Wrestler of the Week (12/8/14).

Augustana
Jeremiah Peterson (133/141 pounds, Sr. Canton, S.D.) finished with a 3-0 record at the NWCA National Duals behind two major decisions and one decision. He pushed Augustana ahead 7-3 with a 14-5 major decision win over Will Steltzlen of Central Oklahoma in the first round of the NWCA National Duals in Fort Wayne, Ind. Peterson posted his second win of the day by winning a 14-9 decision over Zadac Lankford of Central Missouri. Peterson then had a 15-4 major decision over No. 2 Kyle Webb of Lindenwood.
UP NEXT: Augustana returns to action on Wed., Jan 14 when they travel to Aberdeen, S.D. to take on Northern State. Then on Sat., Jan. 17 they will travel to the University of Wisconsin Parkside Duals.
U-Mary
The University of Mary was idle last week.
UP NEXT: The Marauders return to the mat on Saturday, Jan. 17, when they travel to Kearney, Neb., to compete in the University of
Nebraska-Kearney duals. The Marauders will have duals against Chadron State, Colorado School of Mines, Central Missouri, and Lindenwood.
Minnesota State
Minnesota State started the dual season off with back-to-back conference wins. On Friday, they got things started with a 39-7 win over Minot State at home. Saturday, they traveled up to MSU Moorhead and won, 27-12. MSU won at least seven matches at both duals.
Da’Wayne Robertson (Jr., 125 lbs.) got a fall in his first home action. The fall came at the 2:10 mark over Anthony Battle of Minot State. To follow up that performance, Robertson defeated Shane Novak by a major decision, 18-5. In total, he earned MSU 10 points on the weekend.
UP NEXT: Minnesota State will take on SMSU on Thurs., Jan. 15 at 7 p.m. in Mankato, Minn.
MSU Moorhead
Blake Bosch (So., 133 pounds, Wishek, N.D./South Border HS) recorded a pin of Minnesota State’s Brare Adams in 3:34 at 133 pounds during the dual between the two teams on Saturday. Bosch led 7-1 after first period and then recorded win by fall early in second period to improve to 11-5 on the season.
UP NEXT: MSUM will host three duals on Jan. 16-17. The Dragons will face St. John’s in a nonconference dual on Friday at 7 p.m. and then will host NSIC foe Upper Iowa at 2 p.m. on Saturday followed by a nonconference dual against Jamestown later that day. All matches will be at Nemzek Fieldhouse on the MSUM campus.
Minot State
The Beavers hit the road this past weekend and began their road trip with a dual meet against the Minnesota State Mavericks on Friday, Jan. 9. Jason Huger (133, Fr., Mt. Pleasant, S.C./Limestone College) and Cody Haugen (149, Fr., Minot, N.D./Minot HS) kept the Beavers in the mix of things heading into the intermission as both recorded wins in their respective weight classes. After the break, though, the Beavers failed to record another win and fell to the Mavericks by a final score of 39-7. The following day Minot State bounced back in the NSIC with a dual win against Northern State in Aberdeen, S.D. Huger and Haugen each finished their weekend a perfect 2-0 while Anthony Battle (125, So., Wahiawa, Hawaii/St. Andrews), Tanner Crissler (141, Fr., Belcourt, N.D./Turtle Mountain), Kobina Henriques (184, Sr., Miami, Fla./Ohio Valley) and Mitchell Eull (So., HWT, Buffalo, Minn./St. Michael Albertville) recorded wins for Minot State as well. With the win on Saturday, the Beavers improved to 2-1 in the NSIC and 4-5 overall.
UP NEXT: Minot State heads south to the University of Nebraska-Kearney for a set of duals on Saturday, Jan. 17 beginning at 9 a.m.
Northern State
The Northern State wrestling team opened its NSIC slate with a 27-18 loss to Minot State in an exciting match at home Saturday. The two squads were very even as both won four of the contested eight matches. Northern (0-2, 0-1 NSIC) had to forfeit at 125 and 133 pounds. Blake Perryman at 165 pounds and Joe Gomez at 197 both recorded a fall in their individual matches, both of which came in the first period. Perryman defeated Minot’s Richard Avakovs, while Gomez pinned Tobias Baker.
UP NEXT: Northern returns to action with a busy slate next week. First up, the Wolves will host Augustana Jan. 14 in a 7 p.m. match. The Wolves will also travel to the Nebraska Kearney Duals next Saturday.
Southwest Minnesota State
The Mustangs were idle last week.
UP NEXT: Southwest Minnesota State wrestling team will startup NSIC duals this week as it travels to Minnesota State in Mankato, Minn., on Thursday, Jan. 15. Then on Saturday the Mustangs will participate in the Nebraska-Kearney Duals.

#2 ranked Clint Poster maintained his perfect record with four more wins at the NWCA Duals on Jan. 9-10. On the season, Poster is 23-0 at 157-pounds for the Huskies. Poster is 91-13 during his career with the Huskies.
Austin Goergen owns a 22-1 record this season at 285-pounds and was ranked #4 in the last poll. He has 13 falls to his credit this season, which moves his career total to 32. Goergen set a team record in 2013-14 with 19 falls.
Junior Gabe Fogarty is ranked #5 currently at 165-pounds for the Huskies. He owns a 7-1 record this season, which included three wins at the NWCA Duals. Forgarty lone loss at the NWCA Duals was a close 5-4 decision against Maryville’s Dimitri Willis, who is ranked #3 in the nation.
Senior Josh Howk was ranked #8 in the nation at 149 pounds. He is 16-3 this season for the Huskies.
Sophomore Clayton Jennissen is also ranked #8 in the nation at 174-pounds. He is 15-8 this season for SCSU.
UP NEXT: The Huskies currently owns a 6-2 overall record and will travel to the UW-Parkside Ranger Duals in Kenosha, Wisc. On Jan. 17.
Upper Iowa
Blake Sorensen (184, Sr., Denver, Iowa, Denver HS) went 3-1 to lead Upper Iowa over the weekend and now has a 16-5 record for the year. Sorensen defeated Dakota DesLauriers of Mercyhurst (Fall, 3:46), John Vogt (#8 NCAA) of McKendree (Dec. 10-6) and Dylon Braun of St. Cloud State (Dec. 7-2). His only loss of the weekend came in a 7-4 decision to Garrett Lineberger (#1 NCAA) of Notre Dame.
#17 Peacocks claimed 4th place at NWCA National Duals in Fort Wayne, Ind. Upper Iowa defeated #5 Mercyhurst 33-8 and #6 McKendree 18-15 to reach semifinals. UIU lost to #1 Notre Dame 22 -12 and #7 St. Cloud State 26-6 in semis and third-place match, respectively. Jordan Roths, Dalton Westerlund, Matt Paulus, Jordan Rinken, Colbey Vance, Ricky Briggs and Logan Hopp all picked up two wins apiece.
UP NEXT: Upper Iowa will head to Moorhead, Minn. to face the Dragons of MSU Moorhead on Saturday, Jan. 17, for the teams’ opening NSIC dual at 2 p.m.
