NSIC Offensive Player  of the Week
#17 Hannah Burt

Burt scored a goal and had two assists in a pair of Warrior shutout victories.  She played a role in all three WSU goals in a 2-0 win over St. Cloud State and a 1-0 win over Minnesota Duluth. Burt scored her first career goal against St. Cloud State, which also proved to be the game winner.  She later added an assist to give WSU the 2-0 win. On Sunday, Burt produced a terrific crossing pass that directly led to the game’s only goal to beat rival Minnesota Duluth 1-0.

Emanuel posted a pair of shutouts this weekend against Minnesota Duluth and St. Cloud State.  She played a total of 173 minutes without allowing a goal while making a season-high eight saves against UMD and six saves against SCSU.  Emanuel has not allowed a goal in over 263 minutes dating back to a shutout of Wayne State on September 21st as she lowered her season goals against average from 1.20 to 0.87 while raising her save percentage from .806 to .867 on the year.

#2 Madalyn Jansen

Jansen played all 180 minutes anchoring a phenomenal Warrior defense that produced shutouts against both St. Cloud State and Minnesota Duluth.  She was an integral part of a Warrior defense that allowed just 12 shots over two games, with only five shots on goal.  Jansen and the Warrior defense only allowed one shot on goal in their win over UMD.

#21 Payton Pry (F, 5-10, Sr., Lawton, Iowa / East HS)
- Scored both goals for No. 24 Augustana in a 2-1 overtime victory at Northern State on Sunday.
-   It was the second multi-goal of the senior’s career.
- Took five shots, two on goal, in a 3-0 shutout of MSU Moorhead on Saturday.

#19 Emily Hanneman (D, 5-10, Sr., Sioux Falls, S.D./O’Gorman HS)
- Played all 180 minutes in both victories at MSU Moorhead and Northern State over the weekend.
- Part of a Viking defense that tied the team record with five straight shutouts after 3-0 win against the Dragons on Saturday.
-Guided a defensive line that allowed only a combined 15 shots, five on goal, in the course of two games.

#1 Ashley Limmer (G, 5-11, Sr., Brandon, S.D./Brandon Valley HS)
- Posted one shutout as the Vikings went 2-0 over the weekend.
- Played all 90 minutes and made two saves in the victory at MSU Moorhead on Saturday.
- Had her five game shutout streak come to an end, giving up a goal in 2-1 win at Northern State on Sunday.
- Recorded an .800 save percentage, saving four shots on goal.

- Recorded her second goal of the season in a 4-1 loss at No. 2 Minnesota State
- Recorded four of the Beavers’ nine shots on goal during the two-match weekend
- Played in both games of the week for BSU, starting one

The Beavers, who fell to 3-5-0 on the season and 2-3-0 in NSIC play, return to Bemidji, Minn. to host their 2014 home opener Saturday in a 1 p.m. NSIC matchup with Augustana College at Chet Anderson Stadium.

-made three saves in a 0-0 tie on Friday against Minnesota Crookston
-made five saves, including several highlight-reel saves, in a 1-0 win over Bemidji State on Sunday
-faced 22 total shot attempts and 10 corners

-CU went 1-0-1 against Minnesota Crookston and Bemidji State at home
-out-shot opponents 28-22 and 10-8 on goal
-McKenzie Buck scored the only goal in the 82nd minute against BSU on Sunday

- Posted her fourth goal of the season and her first assist in a 3-1 win over Sioux Falls
- She is 10th in the NSIC in points (9) and eighth in goals
Shelby Buttron (GK, 5-9, Sr., Olathe, Kansas / South / South Dakota State)
- Posted 13 saves over the weekend, including a season-high 10 against SMSU
- Allowed three goals in two games, with one coming on a penalty kick
- Is 7th in saves per game (5.00) and 10th in goals allowed per game (1.20)

Marauder Memos
- The Marauders have played their first eight games of the season at home
- U-Mary’s first road trip of the season is a visit to Upper Iowa and Winona State this weekend

Minnesota Crookston Golden Eagles

2013 Record: 3-11-4, 1-10-4 NSIC (t-14th)

The UMC soccer team went 0-1-1 on the weekend with a 0-0 overtime tie against Concordia University, St. Paul and a 3-0 loss to No. 2 Minnesota State University, Mankato. The tie against the Golden Bears marked the fourth-straight result for the Golden Eagles with ties against Concordia, U-Mary and Northern Michigan and a 1-0 win over Minot State University.
The Golden Eagles are currently 2-3-3 on the year, as they are off to one of their strongest starts in program history. Minnesota Crookston has been led on the year by junior forward Courtney Armborst, who has five goals on the year. Erin Mears is second on the team with one goal and three assists, while Beth Lastovich has a goal and an assist.

Minnesota Crookston will return home for the first time since Sept. 9 as they host Wayne State College (Neb.) Oct. 4 at 11 a.m. and Augustana College (S.D.) Oct. 5 at 1 p.m.

Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs

2013 Record: 17-5-1, 13-3-0 NSIC (t-3rd)

- The Bulldogs suffered a pair of setbacks over the weekend, falling 3-0 at Upper Iowa and 1-0 at Winona State, after coming into the weekend with a three-match winning streak without allowing a goal.
- UMD goalkeepers kept the Bulldogs in the game both nights, with freshman Jordan Melby stopping nine consecutive shots on Saturday afternoon after UIU’s first score. Senior Marissa Rosa made five saves on Saturday, with Winona State’s lone score deflecting off the back of a defender and just out of her reach.
- Junior forward Sheridan Reiners and sophomore mid/defender Marissa Ganske led the Bulldog offense with five shots each. UMD’s high-powered offense saw its average shot attempts cut nearly in half, an 11.5 per-game average compared to 22.8 on the season.

#13 Korey Kronforst, Forward, Cary Ill./Cary Grove
- Tallied six points on the weekend scoring three goals to help MSU remain undefeated on the season
- Scored two goals in a 4-1 win over BSU, her second multi-goal game of the season
- Leads the team and NSIC with eight goals for 16 points through eight games
#2 Sidney Trotter, Defense, Sophomore, Omaha, Neb./East
- Helped pace a MSU defense that allowed just one goal on the weekend
- Helped the Mavericks their sixth shutout victory and had an assist as they defeated Minnesota Crookston 3-0
- A major part of a Maverick defense that allowed just eight shots and five shots on goal over the weekend
- Has started every match for the Mavericks this season
#33 Molly McGough, Goalkeeper, Senior, Centennial, Colo./Araphoe
- Went 2-0 on the weekend playing all 90 minutes against both Bemidji State and Minnesota Crookston improving her overall record to 7-0-0
- Produced her fourth shutout of the season in 1 3-0 win over UMC
- Owns a goals against average of .32 and save percentage of .857 giving up just two goals in seven games.
No. 2 MSU remains unbeaten at 8-0-0 on the season after defeating Bemidji State 4-1 and Minnesota Crookston 3-0 last weekend. The shutout against the Golden Eagles is the sixth shutout of the season for the Mavericks.  Senior Emily Moris added a few assists and now had five on the season which also leads the NSIC. The Mavericks are set to host MSU Moorhead and Northern State Saturday and Sunday at The Pitch.

Mackenzie Carlson (F, 5-4, Fr., Fargo, N.D./Davies HS)
- scored second goal of the season in 2-1 win over Wayne State on Sunday.
- goal gave Dragons early 1-0 lead.
- shared team lead with four shots, including three on goal.

Kelsey Schatz (DF, 5-5, Jr., Bismarck, N.D./Century HS)
- had one goal -  the first of her career -  and two points on the week.
- scored game-winning goal in 2-1 win over Wayne State on Sunday.
- also part of defensive effort which helped limit Wayne State to one goal.

Ashley Leintz (GK, 5-10, Jr., Bismarck, N.D./Century HS)
- finished with 26 saves on the week.
- set a career-high with 17 saves in 2-1 win over Wayne State on Sunday.
- had 2.00 goals allowed average on the week and an .867 save percentage.
- leads NSIC at 8.57 saves per game.

Minot State Beavers

2013 Record: 7-8-3, 7-6-2 NSIC (8th)

#0 Celene Johnson (GK, 5-6, Jr., Rocklin, Calif./Cimarron-Memorial)
- Allowed just one goal in a pair of victories for the Beavers this past weekend and recorded a shutout against Sioux Falls
- Boasts an NSIC best .957 save % in her three starts in goal
- Recorded nine saves against Sioux Falls to preserve her shutout and six saves against Southwest Minnesota State in the Beavers 2-1 victory.
- Minot State went undefeated this past week for this first time in the 2014 season. The Beavers defeated Southwest Minnesota State Saturday, Sept. 27 in comeback fashion. After trailing the Mustangs 1-0 at the half, the Beavers went on to put two away in the second half and end the game 2-1. The Beavers finished out homecoming weekend with a bang when they defeated Sioux Falls by a score of 4-0 Sunday morning.
- #12 Kristin Long (M, 5-3, Jr., Mesa, Ariz./Desert Ridge) led the way for the Beavers this past week recording a goal and one assist. Heading into the week of Sept. 29, Long shares the top point spot (4) on the Beaver team with #15 Chloe Melton (F, 5-7, So., Fleet, England/Courtmoor) and #2 Taylor Bachman-Williams (D, 5-6, Sr., Minot, N.D./Minot).
- #15 Chloe Melton (F, 5-7, So., Fleet, England/Courtmoor) scored her second goal of the season to seal the Beavers’ victory against Southwest Minnesota State Saturday afternoon. Both of Melton’s goals this season have come at the right time, as both are game-winners.
- Minot State scored a total of six goals this past weekend, with every goal coming from a different player. Prior to this weekend, the Beavers had scored just three goals total.
- The Beavers will look to continue to climb the table in the NSIC this upcoming weekend when they first travel to Winona State on Friday, Oct. 3 for a 7 p.m. game. After a day off, the Beavers finish off their road trip at Upper Iowa for an 11 a.m. contest.

Sioux Falls took to the road for their first weekend trip of the season and couldn’t break into the conference win column. A 3-1 defeat at U-Mary on Saturday prefaced a 4-0 loss to Minot State the next afternoon. Ciara Howerton scored the lone goal for USF in the Saturday loss to the Marauders after the Cougars had to play over half the match a woman down due to a red which led to U-Mary’s second goal. A more assertive offensive attack emerged in the Minot State game, leading to season-highs in shots (20) and shots on goal (10), but the Cougars allowed four goals and couldn’t capitalize on their own scoring chances. USF stays on the road to take on Minnesota Duluth and St. Cloud State.

 - Kelsea Lambert, a 5-6 junior forward from Bellevue, Neb. (Bellevue West HS), had 15 shots in two matches over the weekend with seven shots on goal.  She had six shots on goal with 10 shots total against MSU Moorhead Sunday, a 2-1 Wildcat loss.

Winona State (7-1, 4-1 NSIC) finishes off its four-game homestand this weekend when it faces Minot State at 7 p.m. Friday before hosting U-Mary at 11 a.m. Sunday at Warrior Stadium.
