Kronforst scored two goals this past weekend producing four points for the 4-0 Mavericks. Her biggest goal came on Sunday as she netted the game winner in a 1-0 upset of No. 1 Grand Valley State. The loss ended GVSU 27-match winning streak. Her other goal came in a 3-0 win over Concordia-St. Paul.

Steele helped the Mavericks post shutouts against Concordia-St. Paul and No. 1 Grand Valley State as she played in every minute of both matches last week. Steele led a defense that only allow five shots on goal in the two matches this past weekend, including only four to No. 1 Grand Valley State. The Maverick defense still hasn’t allowed a goal all season and only allowed eight shots on net in four matches. This marks the second week in a row Steel has been named NSIC Defensive Player of the Week.

- Scored two goals over two games, a 2-2 tie against #21 Central Missouri and a 4-1 win over Southwest Baptist

The Golden Eagles went 0-2-1 on the weekend as they had a loss in their NSIC opener to 3-1 Bemidji State University, a hard-fought 2-1 loss to a strong on the road at Michigan Tech University and a 1-1 draw at Northern Michigan University.
The Golden Eagles continue to be led by Courtney Armborst, who scored her fifth goal of the season against Northern Michigan. Armborst also scored against Bemidji State. Against Michigan Tech, Delaney McIntyre put home her first goal of the year. In addition to Armborst and McIntyre, freshman Ellie Brettschneider comes in with a goal and an assist.
In net, Lexie Gauger comes in with a 1.34 goals against average with 12 saves on the year.
The Golden Eagles will hit the road to face Minot State University and University of Mary this weekend.

The seventh-rated Mavericks improved their record to 4-0-0 overall and 1-0-0 in the NSIC after defeating Concordia-St. Paul and No. 1 Grand Valley State. Sophomore Dana Savino scored twice while junior Korey Kronforst added a goal of her own to give MSU the 3-0 win over the Golden Bears. Kronforst scored the only goal of the game against the Lakers and the Maverick defense only allowed five shots to defeat the defending national champs 1-0 on Sunday. The MSU will travel to Sioux Falls on Saturday and Southwest Minnesota State on Sunday.

- Minot State tested themselves this past week with their short non-conference schedule. The Beavers traveled to Weatherford, Okla. for their season opener against Southwestern Oklahoma State and drew 1-1. On Thursday, Sept. 11, the Beavers hosted their first home match and defeated Southern Nazarene 1-0 in an overtime thriller. They concluded their week with a 2-0 home loss to nationally ranked Central Missouri.
- Senior #17 Jamie MacFarlane (F, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan) started her senior season off strong recording eight shots in the team’s 1-1 draw with Southwestern Oklahoma State. MacFarlane’s consistent work-rate paid off in Minot State’s game against Southern Nazarene when she broke through and scored the game winning goal in overtime to give the Beavers a 1-0 win.
- The Beavers lead all NSIC teams with 43 fouls in just three games played. The Beavers averaged 10.78 fouls per game last season, good for most in the conference. Although the team leads the league in fouls, they sit in fourth place in yellow cards.
- Minot State begins NSIC play on Monday, Sept. 15 when they travel to Bismarck, ND to face rival University of Mary. The two teams tied 0-0 in their match last season at Herb Parker Stadium in Minot, ND.

University of Sioux Falls was tasked with two tough opponents over the weekend and came a way with an 0-2 record. In Friday night’s match against Montana State-Billings, the Cougars; defense staunchly held the Yellowjacket attack scoreless in the first half, but the relentless MSUB offense broke through in the second for a 2-0 victory. The Cougars then hit the road for the first time in 2014 and opened NSIC competition at Southwest Minnesota State. Ciara Howerton answered the Mustangs’ first half goal with her first score of the season, but an early second-half red card left the USF side down one player and SMSU poured in four second-half goals for the 6-1 win. Sioux Falls returns home to take on top-ten ranked Minnesota State on Saturday and Concordia-St. Paul on Sunday.

- Junior goalkeeper made 7 saves against the Bronchos and had a total of 10 for the week.
- Junior Madie Edwards led the Peacocks with 8 shots over the two games
- The Peacocks will travel to take on Augustana Saturday and Wayne State Sunday
- UIU holds the series edge against Augustana at 5-1-1, winning the last four matchups
- Upper Iowa has an 5-1-3 overall record against Wayne State, beating the Wildcats 5-0 in 2013.
