ABERDEEN, S.D. --- Junior Nathan Hancock was able to overcome the wind and cold temperatures to earn his first ever NSIC championship in the decathlon with personal-best point total of 6,664 points.
Overall Hancock finished in first place in the long jump (6.73m), high jump (2.01m) and 400-meter dash (51.41). He also finished first and had personal bests in the 100-meter dash (11.18), 110-meter hurdles (15.74), and the javelin throw (47.29).
Hancock finished second in the shot put (10.52m), discus throw (29.32m), pole vault (4.15m), and the 1,500-meter run (4:54.57) to take home the crown.
The 6,664 points he compiled provisionally qualifies him for the national championships and is the 12
th highest point total in NCAA Division II.

Minnesota State will continue action this weekend as they travel to St. Paul to compete in the Meet of the UnSaintly hosted by Hamline University. The two-day event will begin Friday, April 2, at 3 p.m.
