#26 Aimee Wronski

Wronski scored two goals and added an assist as the Peacocks went 2-0 last weekend. She scored the game-winning goal in a 2-0 win over Northern State and added a goal and an assist in a 3-1 victory over MSU Moorhead. She lead the Peacocks in shots with 11, putting eight on goal as UIU has now won seven straight matches.

Barr was unbeaten on the road this week, posting a 1-0-1 record against SMSU and USF. She allowed just one goal on 200 minutes in net to record a 0.45 goals against average. She made four saves Sunday to post her fourth win and second shutout of 2014 in a 6-0 win over USF. She turned aside seven of eight shots faced over the weekend to finish the week with a .875 save percentage. Barr ranks second on BSU’s all-time shutouts list with 13 during her career.

Jansen continued her terrific season anchoring a stout Warrior defense, guiding her squad to a pair of wins over MSU Moorhead and Northern State. The Warrior defense gave up just three shots on goal for the weekend. Jansen and the Warriors held MSU Moorhead to just two shots on goal in a 1-0 overtime victory on Saturday, with Jansen providing the offensive heroics as well, netting the game winner for her first career goal. The Warriors allowed just one shot on goal from NSU, in a 2-1 win as they won their sixth straight. This marks the second time this season Jansen has earn NSIC Defensive Player of the Week (9/29/14).

- Was just the second match she has nettled three or more points during her career
- Became the first BSU player to record three or more goals in a match since Ashley Ellefsen achieved the feat Oct. 30, 2009

2013 Record: 3-11-4, 1-10-4 NSIC (t-14th)
The University of Minnesota Crookston soccer team picked up their third-straight win of the season Saturday with a 3-1 win over University of Sioux Falls, marking the first time since 2002 that UMC had won three or more straight games in a season. In addition, it was UMC’s fifth win of the season, which is the most UMC has had in a season since 2007. The Golden Eagles however lost the following game, falling 2-0 to University of Sioux Falls.
The Golden Eagles’ play against USF was highlighted by goals from Courtney Armborst, Molly Buck and Elizabeth Busch. The goal for Buck was the first of her career. Armborst scored her eighth goal of the season in the win over the Cougars.
UMC will return home this weekend as they host rival Minnesota State University Moorhead in the Battle of the Highway 75 Rivalry Rock Sat., Oct. 18 at 11 a.m. UMC will then take on Northern State University Sun., Oct. 19 at 1 p.m.

- Played in all 180 minutes of play this past weekend helping the Mavericks to a shutout victory over the University of Mary and a 3-1 victory of Minot State.
- Scored her first career collegiate goal against Minot State and now has three points in 2014
- Part of a defense that has nine shutouts and only allowed six shots last weekend

- Produced her sixth shutout of the season and 38th of her career against the U-Mary.

MSU continues its winning streak to 12 matches and are off to their best start in program history. The Mavericks have nine shutouts in 2014 and have only allowed three goals. Senior Emily Moris leads the league in assists with eight while junior Korey Kronforst is second in the league in goals with 10. The Mavericks will host Wayne State and Augustana this weekend in Mankato at The Pitch.

After playing eight of its first 11 games at home, MSUM will play all but one of its remaining six regular season games on the road. The Dragons will open a stretch of four straight road games on Oct. 18 at Minnesota Crookston in a battle for the Highway 75 Rivalry Rock.

2013 Record: 7-8-3, 7-6-2 NSIC (8th)
- Minot State tasted both victory and defeat this past weekend as they played both games at home at Herb Parker Stadium. In the first game of the weekend, the Beavers fell to No. 2 ranked Minnesota State 3-1, but the Beavers didn’t go easily. After going down 1-0 early on, Minot State leveled the score at 1-1 heading into the half. But the Mavericks proved to be the No. 2 team and tacked on two goals to finish out the contest. Minot State got back on the winning side of things Sunday afternoon when they defeated Concordia-St. Paul 3-0. Three different Beavers scored in the contest for Minot State.
- #12 Kristin Long (M, 5-3, Jr., Mesa, Ariz./Desert Ridge) provided an attacking spark for the Beavers over the weekend recording a goal in each game for the Beavers, including the game winning goal against Concordia-St. Paul. With her two goals, Long moves into a tie for most goals on the team (3) and currently has the most points (8) on the team with three goals and two assists.
- #21 Emilie Rebelo (D, 5-8, Jr., Sacramento, Calif./Natomas) transitioned to the center back position in the middle of September and the junior from Sacramento is really starting to get comfortable in the back. Rebelo helped lead the Beavers’ backline to a clean sheet against Concordia-St. Paul while adding a goal herself off a free kick in the contest. Rebelo nearly had two goals in the Concordia match as she rang a shot off the cross bar in the 14th minute as well.
- #9 Jamie Ayala (F, 5-5, Jr., Temecula, Calif./West Valley) provided added depth for Minot State this weekend when she came off the bench and scored the third goal of the game for the Beavers against Concordia-St. Paul. Her goal in the 85th minute was her first goal of the season.
- Minot State has a critical weekend ahead of them beginning with a road game at Minnesota-Duluth. The Bulldogs sit two points ahead of the Beavers in the NSIC table, so a win will guarantee a move up in the standings for the Beavers. Next Sunday Minot State travels to St. Cloud State to face the 3-6 Huskies in another match with serious postseason implications.

NSU shut out CU 2-0 before falling to No. MSU 1-0.
The Northern State University soccer team dropped a pair of matches to Upper Iowa and Winona State. Alyssa Wilde scored her first goal of the season versus the Warriors. Brittany Tietz brought her season total saves to 77. NSU will be back in action on the road against Bemidji State and Minnesota Crookston next weekend.

Sioux Falls suffered a pair of defeats over the weekend, losing 3-1 to Minnesota Crookston and 6-0 to Bemidji State. Tionne Webb tried to spark a comeback after the Cougars fell behind 2-0 to Minnesota Crookston when the senior defender scored her first goal of the season late in the first half. The Golden Eagles would score again and drop the Cougars 3-1. In a windy Sunday battle against Bemidji State, the Cougars fell victim to an offensive outburst led by a hat trick by BSU’s Hillary Arechigo and suffered a 6-0 loss. USF heads back to the road for a pair of games against Winona State and Upper Iowa on Saturday and Sunday.

Taige Thoreson (Sr., Forward, St. Charles, Minn./St. Charles HS)
- Thoreson scored the game winner in SCSU’s 1-0 victory at Wayne State on Oct. 12. Goal was scored at 18:33 of the contest.
- Scored Huskies’ lone goal in a tough 2-1 loss at Augustana on Oct. 11.
- Had four shots in loss to Augustana and 5 shots in win over WSC for a team-high 9 shots on the weekend.
- Thoreson leads Huskies this fall with three goals and eight points.
- St. Cloud State University will host the University of Mary on Oct. 17 at 7 p.m. and Minot State University on Oct. 19 at 1 p.m. Both games will be played at Husky Stadium in St. Cloud. The games will kick-off a five-match homestand for the Huskies in NSIC action.
- The Huskies snapped a five-game losing skid with a 1-0 victory at Wayne State College on Oct. 12. The lone goal for SCSU was charted by senior Taige Thoreson, which was her second goal of the weekend and third of the 2014 season. She currently leads SCSU offense with three goals and eight points.
- Gabby Fleck added the solo assist on the game winning goal against Wayne State. Fleck tops the Huskies this season with three assists.
- Kenzie Hanzlik gained the shutout victory over Wayne State, which marked her second shutout of the 2014 season.
- Hanzlik now has 15 career shutouts, which ties her for second in the team records along with Stephanie Brendel (2002-05). The Huskies’ all-time shutout leader is Elizabeth Kelly with 16 shutouts from (2006-09).
- Hanzlik now has 25 career wins (25-22-4) and ranks second in the SCSU records behind Kelly, who had 26 wins during her college career.
