WINONA, Minn. – Michelle Tobin recorded her eighth double-double of the season as the Winona State women’s basketball team beat Minnesota Duluth 74-56 Wednesday in the opening round of the NSIC/Sanford Health Tournament in Winona. Tobin scored 21 points, just one off her career high as the Warriors opened up a 14 point lead at halftime and never let UMD mount a charge in the second period to put the game away early. Tobin also grabbed 13 rebounds, her third consecutive game in double figures rebounding. The senior now has 277 rebounds on the season, just five short of the Winona State record.

St. Cloud, Minn. -- The St. Cloud State University women's basketball team matched up against Southwest Minnesota State in the first round of the NSIC/Sanford Health tournament this evening. The Huskies defeated the Mustangs 72-47. St. Cloud State will take on Winona State University on Saturday for second round tournament action. Tonight's win improves the Huskies overall record to 19-8. St. Cloud State put an end to Southwest's season as they finished with an overall record of 4-25.

Aberdeen, S.D. - For the first time since 2008, the Northern State University Women's Basketball team defeats Wayne State College with a score of 69-59. The Wolves move on to the second round of the NSIC Conference Tournament, while bringing the Wildcats season to an end. The Wolves, as they advance, improve to 16-11 on the season and 12-11 in the conference, as the Wildcats end their season 17-10 overall and 13-10 in league play.

Mankato, Minn. --- Five Mavericks net double-digit points as the No. 17 Minnesota State women’s basketball team coasted to a 94-77 victory opening round victory in the NSIC Sanford Health Tournament over seventh-seeded Bemidji State. The Mavericks took an eight point lead, 42-34 into intermission. MSU jumped out to a quick 6-0 lead off of three-pointers by sophomore Aubrey Davis and junior Ali Wilkinson, but the Beavers were able to battle back to a mark of 24-23 in favor of the Mavericks with 8:05 to play in the opening frame.

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Hot three-point shooting and blocked shots sparked big runs to give Augustana a 66-51 win over Minot State in the first round of the NSIC/Sanford Health Women’s Basketball Tournament. The Vikings improve to 21-6 and the Beavers’ season ends with a 13-14 record. Alex Feeney recorded her eighth double-double, 12 points and 10 rebounds, and Andrea Whitney set a career-high in blocks with five swats. Lydia Nelson tied her career-high for blocked shots with four as the Vikings racked up 10 total blocks.

MOORHEAD, Minn. --- Four Minnesota State University Moorhead players scored in double figures to help the Dragons top the University of Sioux Falls, 62-50, in the first round of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference/Sanford Health Women's Basketball Tournament, which was held at Wednesday night at Alex Nemzek Hall in Moorhead, Minn. MSUM advanced to the NSIC/Sanford Health tournament quarterfinals, where the Dragons will face Minnesota State, Mankato on Saturday in Mankato, Minn., with the time to be determined. Mankato beat Bemidji State, 94-77 on Wednesday. The Dragons improved to 16-11 with the win, while Sioux Falls ended the season at 12-15.

ST. PAUL, Minn. - The 20th-ranked Concordia-St. Paul women's basketball team (22-5) used a 16-0 run while holding Minnesota, Crookston (8-19) without a point for over nine and a half minutes in a 60-45 win in the NSIC/Sanford Heatlh Tournament first round on Wednesday night at Gangelhoff Center. The Golden Bears were tested as the top seed from the South Division against the North Division's eighth seeded Golden Eagles. UMC led for the middle 15-minutes of play from the 10:30 mark in the first half to the 15:09 mark in the second half. But the Golden Eagles couldn't pull ahead by more than six as Concordia's defense kept them from pulling away.

Bismarck, N.D.— The University of Mary was dominant inside as they cruised to an 84-62 victory over Upper Iowa University in the opening round of the NSIC/Sanford Health Women’s Basketball Tournament. U-Mary took advantage of UIU’s starting center Carly Pagel being out as they held a 48-12 advantage in the paint. Senior forwards Shaunna Knife and Shanara Clark were the catalysts for the Marauders’ inside dominance. The duo combined to score 37 points on 17-of-19 shooting from inside the arc. Knife finished with a game-high 23 points and 9 rebounds, while Clark scored a career-high 14 points. Now with 638 career rebounds, Shaunna Knife moves into fifth place all-time.
