Offensive Player of the Year
#13 Korey Kronforst
(F, So., Cary, Ill. / Cary Grove HS)

Korey Kronforst has elevated her game to a whole new level in her second season at Minnesota State. The sophomore has set career-highs across the board in producing 17 goals and three assists for 37 total points in 15 league games to run away with the conference goal and point scoring titles. She also led the league with 81 shots and tied for fourth in game-winning goals as she netted decisive markers against Concordia-St. Paul, Northern State, Minot State, and U-Mary. The Cary, Ill., product owned a seven-match point streak from Sept. 21-Oct. 13 in which she registered 11 goals and an assist and collected a career-high three goals and six points in a 7-0 victory at Wayne State on Oct. 12. Kronforst has amassed 21 goals and 45 points in two seasons of NSIC competition to stand seven goals and 33 points shy of both NSIC career records.
Defensive Player of the Year
#4 Rebecca McCoy
(D, Sr., Eagan, Minn. / Eagan HS
Winona State University
Rebecca McCoy has helped anchor a Winona State defense that posted a 13-2 mark in conference play this season, allowing just seven goals in those games. McCoy and the Warrior defense have posted nine shutout while allowing just 58 shots on goal in their 15 league games. The Warriors have shut out nine of their last 11 opponents, including shut out wins over ranked opponents Southwest Minnesota State and Minnesota State. McCoy has also been an asset to the WSU offense, collecting two goals and an assist in conference play while scoring three goals in total this season.
Goalkeeper of the Year
#31 Brienna Dehkes
(GK, Fr., Elk River, Minn. / Elk River HS)

Brienna Dehkes has had quite the successful first season at the collegiate level. Dehkes has started 17 of 18 games in net for the Mustangs and owns a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference record of 10-2-2. Dehkes has recorded eight shutouts over NSIC opponents this season, which is tied for the league lead. Dehkes owns an .879 save percentage and a goals allowed average of 0.55 in NSIC matches this season – both ranking second best among NSIC goalkeepers. Dehkes has made 58 saves and allowed just eight goals in conference play this season. As a true freshman, Dehkes has set new SMSU single-season records in save percentage (.892), goals against average 0.54), wins (13) and shutouts (9).
Newcomers of the Year
#26 Aimee Wronski
(F, Jr., Huntley, Ill. / Huntley HS)
Upper Iowa University
Wronski scored a team-high and an NSIC second-best 11 goals this season in 15 conference matches. She had three multi-goal games against NSIC foes and led the Peacocks to a school-record 12 wins in NSIC play. The junior played in and started all 15 NSIC games for UIU and averaged .73 goals per game taking a total of 72 shots, which was second most in the Northern Sun. Wronski also finished tied for first in game-winning goals with 6 and tied for fifth in the conference with a team-high 6 assists. The Huntley, Illinois native earned a .528 shots-on-goal percentage and totaled 28 points against league opponents in 2013. Wronski totaled a season-high five points twice this year scoring two goals and adding an assist against the Huskies of St. Cloud State on Sept. 22 and most recently against the Wildcats of Wayne State on Oct. 27.

The 2013 season has seen many firsts for the Mustang soccer program, including the program’s first ever national ranking and setting SMSU single-season records for overall wins, NSIC wins, consecutive wins, and shutouts. Buchholz has guided the 2013 squad to an overall record of 14-2-2, 11-2-2 in the NSIC and led SMSU to its first postseason NSIC tournament berth since 2007. During his tenure, SMSU has recorded 26 wins, including 20 conference victories and its first winning record since 1999. Buchholz, who has ten seasons of head coaching experience at the collegiate level, came to SMSU after spending one season as assistant women’s soccer coach at NCAA Division I California-Riverside.
