NSIC Women’s Golfer of the Year

Maggie Leland was voted by the coaches as the 2011-12 NSIC Women’s Golfer of the Year. Leland won the NSIC Women’s Golf Tournament by five strokes, coming in at 7-over-par 222 after shooting a 3-over 74. She led the NSIC with a 74.4 stroke average during the season. She was also named the NSIC Golfer of the Week on five separate occasions during this past season. Leland was the 2010-11 NSIC Women’s Golf Newcomer of the Year.

Tabitha Kunst was voted by the league coaches as the 2011-12 NSIC Women’s Golf Newcomer of the Year. Kunst had a 82.9 stroke average over 17 rounds this season including five top ten finishes. She tied for 21st place at this year’s NSIC Women’s Golf Championship, helping the Mavericks to a third place finish.

Peggy Kirby was voted by her peers as the NSIC Women’s Golf Coach of the Year for the third straight season. Kirby, in her ninth year at Augustana, helped lead the Vikings to the NSIC Women’s Golf Championships the past three seasons. This season she has coached three all-conference performers and the NSIC Women’s Player of the Year. Kirby has led the Viking to the NCAA Tournament each of the last five seasons.
