BEMIDJI STATE WINS THIRD STRAIGHT NORTHERN SUN MEN'S GOLF TITLE

Don Niskanen, head coach at Bemidji State, led the Beavers to their third straight Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Championship in Men's Golf last weekend after winning a two-hole, 10-player playoff round with Winona State. As a team, Bemidji State finished with a score of 612 (306-306) to defeat the Warriors of Winona State (302-310=612).

Bemidji State senior Ryan Holte captured the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Individual Golf Title shooting +9 (77-74=15). He outlasted Winona State Warrior Matt Reel (77-74=15) in an individual playoff to seize the individual crown. Holte, of Hawley, MN, was named All-NSIC and NSIC Player of the Year following his strong performance. He earned the individual honors at Marshall Golf Club in Marshall, Minnesota (par 71).
